In a workplace, workers can exercise collective power because they all have the same boss. For renters, this is harder, because there are so many different landlords. The exception is build-to-rent buildings, where everyone rents from the same corporate landlord.

Better Renting is piloting an effort to organise renters in build-to-rent apartment buildings in Harrison and Amaroo in the ACT. We'll be talking to residents to understand the issues that matter to them, then working to build local tenant associations that can exercise collective power to improve conditions for people renting in these buildings.
