Renting need to change:
- You can be evicted even if you do nothing wrong.
- People are being forced to abandon pets just to get a home.
- Rents just keep going up.
- And crappy, inefficient homes are making people sick and driving up power bills.
The ACT could soon pass new laws to bring renting into the 21st century - and you can make sure that people who rent get the chance to have their say.
TenantTalks is a way for renters to have a conversation about their experiences of renting and what they would like to change. Renters volunteer to host an event and then invite other renters to join a structure conversation about renting in the ACT. Then, we'll use feedback from all the events to create a report on your experiences of being a renter in Canberra.
We're launching TenantTalks on Sunday, 7 October. Come along to hear what is involved and how you can take part.
Delicious, free lunch will be provided. Please RSVP below.
