A wet curtain can work wonders in cooling air as it blows into your home!
Ingredients:
- A curtain or large cloth
- Water
- Optional: A few drops of essential oil for fragrance
Instructions:
- Dampen the curtain or cloth with water. Add a few drops of essential oil if you'd like.
- Hang the dampened curtain in front of an open window.
Why it works: As the wind blows through the wet fabric, the water will evaporate, cooling the air that comes into the room. It's an old-school method that's surprisingly effective.
Just be careful not to use too much water — the curtain should not be dripping. If you overspray, it may cause mould on or around the curtain, so monitor for this.
